What is a Diesel Bypass Pump?
Bypass pumps are typically used on a temporary basis. They are put into place to allow uninterrupted service during maintenance work. Sewage, wastewater, etc. is temporarily diverted from its usual route, via temporary pipelines or channels, creating a space for the maintenance, repair, construction, or other work to be done. A bypass pump draws the liquid into this alternate route and maintains the flow for as long as is necessary.
Bypass pump are either electric-driven or diesel-driven. A diesel-powered bypass pump can be run when electricity is not available, such as during power outages, or in locations where electricity is difficult or impossible to access. Diesel-driven bypass pumps offer ultimate flexibility, in terms of where and when they can be used.
DBP Series of Diesel Bypass Pumps
HCP Pumps' DBP Series of diesel-powered bypass pumps are high-capacity diaphragm pumps that provide automatic and fast priming. Their oil-bathed mechanical seals allow for dry-running capability without risk of damage to the shaft seals.
A Tier 4 Final engine comes standard on all of our DBP units, meeting the latest engine emission standards. All our DBP units are also equipped with a lifting beam. HCP Pumps offers different skid styles so you can choose the one that is best configured to meet your needs.
Our diesel bypass pumps have a high-efficiency hydraulic end to ensure lower fuel consumption, and the hinged pump housing allows for easy servicing of your pump.
